blog assignment 4

My favorite movie from year 2013 and 2014 is “Captain Phillips” directed by Paul Greengrass. I first saw this movie at the AMC Theater. The reason this movie is my favorite is because the theatricality is nice, also it’s based on a true story, which makes it even easier to touch people’s heartstrings.

For my all-time favorite movie, I’ll say it’s “Inception” directed by Christopher Nolan. I rented this movie, and watched it at home. My favorite part of this movie is almost at the end, the gyro kept circling, and then the end, leaving an opening ending for the audiences to imagine the actual ending.

blog assignment 3

The main difference between this magazine and other baseball magazines is that I have an area that’s specially designed for readers who’s got something to say or discuss about. They can e-mail me what they want to say or discuss about, after selection, I then will print them on my magazine.
Since this is a baseball magazine, I will say it’s for readers at any age. No matter what’s your socioeconomic status, your ethnicity, or your gender, everyone can read it.

        Five advertisers:
1.1.     Sporting goods, such as Dick’s sporting goods.
2.2.     Foods, such as McDonald’s.
3.3.    Banks, such as Chase.
4.4.    Sports drinks, such as Gatorade.
5.5.    Telecom, such as Verizon

        Five articles:
1.1.     For the first one, I plan to tell some background history and its origin of baseball. I will also tell the readers how the modern baseball is formed.
2.2.     The second article, I plan to introduce the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.  I will briefly talk about what’s the qualification the players/coaches/umpires have to meet in order to join the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
3.3.  .   For my third article, I will introduce some basic baseball knowledge to those who are interested in baseball but not fully understand how it’s played.
4.4.     For my fourth article, I plan to leave this place for the reader who’s got something to say.  No matter it’s how they feel about a player or what they want to tell their favorite team.
5.5.     For the last part, I plan to set it as a Q&A session. If there are not enough questions, then I will change this part into some major events that happened in the baseball history.

blog assignment 2: books

I like to read when I have free time, and so far, I can’t even remember how many books I’ve read in my life, but there are some books that I would like to introduce to you. There three books have influenced my life in some different ways.

The first book is The Shack written by Wm. Paul Young.  This book changed my attitude toward my belief. I was an atheistic person, but after reading this book, I’ve started to believe in God.

The second book is The Swarm: A Novel  written by Frank Schatzing. This book tells a simple, yet often forgotten truth. If people keep harming nature, sooner or later, nature will have a counterattack on mankind.  The book taught me that if we want to live on Earth forever, we have to live peacefully with nature, instead of unilateral destruction.

The third book is Digital Fortress written by Dan Brown. This book taught me that in today’s society, personal privacy literally means nothing to the government. If the government wants, they can dig up all the secrets one has, even the person’s ancestor’s secrets. Thus if we want to keep our personal privacy safe enough, we have to be extra careful than ever before.
